An Antique Japanese Meiji Satsuma Pottery Tea Set /Service
Dating to circa 1900-1920
Comprising of a Teapot, Sugar Bowl & Milk jug with 6 Cups and 6 Saucers.
Beautifully decorated in gilt and enamel with two female figures / geisha standing in front of a pagoda with a mountain & lake background.
Signed to the underneath with Satsuma Crest & makers signiture in gilt on black
The teapot measures 14.5cm in height, the cups are 5cm in height & the saucers are 12cm in diameter
Condition: The sevice has the usual crazing to the cream ground found on Satsuma ware, one cup has a couple of chips and their is a little nibble on the edge of a saucer, overall in very good condition.
